I'm a 20-something year old software engineer born and raised in the midwestern United States. I had the opportunity to start learning Japanese in high school, an opportunity that was fairly rare in retrospect.

In college, I continued with the language. The Japanese professor there hired me as one of her teaching assistants while I was an underclassman, and I stayed with the job until around the time I graduated. So, I know how to teach someone Japanese.

This project started in November 2025 when I got the idea to create my own resource to teach Japanese. I was unsatisfied with how apps taught the language; in my eyes, they were built by engineers, not teachers. And many other resources online lacked something fundamental, were more of a reference resource than a learning resource, or were just plain incorrect. I figured I'd do it myself.

As of right now, the project is still in early development, but I hope to create something that makes it easy to learn Japanese for anyone curious about it, no matter where they're from.
